The Best Board Books for Toddlers

Picture Books

You know you’re going to be reading them over and over (and over!), so you’d do well to make sure they’re fairly enjoyable to read, right?

By the time you have your first two-year-old, chances are good you’ve got a couple of these memorized line by line.

Everybody’s taste varies, but these are my very favorite board books to read aloud with my toddlers- the ones we never tire of. (Well, let’s be honest… the ones they never tire of…)

I’m generally looking for nice pictures, compelling text (or at least text that is not so dumbed down, I can barely tolerate it).

Some of these are works of art (Goodnight Gorilla– such a great book), others are just funny as heck (I laugh at Yummy Yucky every single time).

Some are beautiful (Mr. Gumpy, of course), and others are old standbys that everyone knows and loves.
