This is easily one of my "most recommended" books of the year. I found this book impossible to put down-- and so did my kids! If you have a child who hasn't fallen head-over-heels for reading yet, start here. I loved the second book (Code Name Flood) every bit as much as the first!

Page-turner alert! This time-travel story is unputdownable. I’d be inclined to recommend it for 10-15’s, but my 18-year-old told me it was the best book she’s read all year. So let’s just say 10+. 😁⁣ It’d make a fun read-aloud, or a great pick for a kid who thinks he/she doesn’t like reading.

Laura Martin is (hands-down) my go-to author for any kids age 10-14 who say they don’t like reading. This newest from her is perfect especially for fans of The Edge of Extinction books (I love those!) (and I’m not even a science fiction person!).

I tend to think Laura’s books make better read-alones than read-alouds… only because they are page-turners, and your kids aren’t going to want to stop once they start. But if you have a reluctant reader, try reading aloud the first chapter or two and then “running out of time” so they have to keep reading on their own to see what happens! 😎

Recommended for ages 8+.
