Coaching for Homeschool Moms
Every month, members get to join Sarah Mackenzie for a coaching session on Zoom.
Think of it like Teaching from Rest *live*, every month, with Sarah by your side to help you figure out what works for your own homeschool.
This fall we’re deep-diving into Teaching from Rest, and Sarah will walk you through how Teaching from Rest can look when homeschooling:
- Grades K-3
- Grades 4-8
- High School
Each age/stage gets its own coaching session, and you’ll come away both inspired and armed with practical ways to find more joy, more peace, and less stress in your homeschool life.
(You don’t actually need to have read Teaching from Rest to benefit from these coaching sessions!)
The Coaching Library
You should also know that inside RAR Premium is a library of coaching replays, guides, and classes that will help you with various topics, from how to choose books for your kids to Sarah’s preferred methods for memorizing poetry and scripture and everything in between.

Coaching sessions are live on the first Friday evening of each month, and replays are always available at any time for RAR Premium Members.
Family Book Clubs
Our family book clubs are excellent for all ages—preschoolers to teens. RAR Premium members get a family book club guide that walks you through a feast of ideas:
- discussion prompts for kids of all ages
- meals or snacks related to the book
- drawing/art lessons
- nature study and/or history tie-ins
- poetry
- and more!
Each season in RAR Premium we offer book clubs for a novel and three picture books.
It’s a feast of ideas that you can use based around the book, depending on your kids’ ages and interest levels.
Fall Family Book Club Guides
Each Family Book Club (for both novels and picture books) comes with a Family Book Club Guide to help you dig into the book with your kids, notice what you might have missed on a first reading, and share an experience you (and your kids!) won’t soon forget.
We’ve lost track of how many authors/illustrators have told us that these Family Book Club Guides are the best they’ve ever seen (and they see a lot!). 🥰
Meeting the Author/Illustrator
The crowning event at RAR Premium’s Family Book Clubs are live Zooms with the author or illustrator (or sometimes both!). Your kids will get to submit questions and hear from the author or illustrator themselves.
Kids often feel as though the authors/illustrators are their friends after these events. They’re… fabulous.
What We’re Reading this Fall
These are the books we’ll be reading through the fall:
WOW: Writers on Writing
RAR WOW: Writers on Writing workshops are our writing workshops for kids taught by published authors.
This fall, Julie Berry (author of Lovely War, one of Sarah’s tippy-top favorite recommendations for teens and adults) is coming to RAR Premium to teach our 10-17 year-olds how to generate story ideas.
This isn’t just a random exercise, either—it’s really the process Julie uses when she’s coming up with a new story for a picture book, middle grade novel, or YA novel!
At WOW: Writers on Writing, your kids get to learn from the pros. We love that.
Just like all of our WOW Workshops, kids will get a WOW Guide to walk them through exercises to practice what they’ve learned, and can revisit the workshop as often as they like on replay.
Mama Book Club
Some of the best feedback we hear at Read-Aloud Revival is “not only are my kids reading all the time and loving it… so am I!”

This fall we’re reading together from Teaching from Rest: A Homeschooler’s Guide to Unshakeable Peace.
