I’m a new listener to the Read Aloud Revival – as a grandmother who has been introduced to RAR by my daughters who are doing an excellent job parenting my grandchildren. (I’m also a public middle school librarian.)
I’m listening to the podcast episodes from most recent to the first episode. I have acquired many facts, tips and ideas while listening.
This episode featuring Ms Jones has touched me; moved me to be more on a child’s level – on my knees.
I appreciate her testimony & your willingness to minister through the Read Aloud Revival.
So many of your episodes I think “THIS was my favorite!!” and then there comes another favorite, and another, and another! :) Really enjoyed this one….We love our Jesus Story Book Bible (and “Thoughts to make your heart sing!”). I loved hearing the backstory and so many great nuggets in this episode! Sharing, sharing, sharing!
oh my Charlotte Mason!! lol. I love, love, love everything Sally said about letting a story be a story and not a lesson and letting God do the work. “The power of the story is the story.”
Words from my own heart. :).
What a wonderful podcast. I love your books, Sally. So beautiful and some of our family favorites!
Loved this so much, especially Sally’s wisdom about how God uses the mundane to get us where He wants us, how to let the story teach, and more…
Could you link to the book Sally mentioned that was the new release soft-cover version/translation of the Psalm from Jesus Storybooks bible?
I love the idea of “I wonder” questions! This is planting a seed then watering it. Thank you for another lovely podcast!
Hi, Sarah! I would love the opportunity to enter this contest, but I do not have Instagram nor the time to add it to my life right now. Would you consider making the contest available another way? :) We are expecting our third child this week! – after an 11-year gap!!!! The Jesus Storybook Bible wasn’t around when my other two were little, and I would love to win it for this new baby. :)
Sorry this giveaway is only happening on Instagram, Jen. :(
This is my new favorite episode! As a children’s writer, I was so blessed to hear Sally talk about her calling (to write to every kid) and about how God dropped the Jesus Storybook Bible in her lap. I often struggle with guilt over not writing specifically Christian-themed stories, but every time I hear/read what Sally has to say, I feel a tremendous grace and freedom. Please encourage her to write a book for other writers if you speak with her again!
Oh that’s a really good idea, Carolyn! I’d gobble that one right up!
And I’m with you, my favorite episode keeps on changing. I was a weepy mess after this one! Just so much encouragement.
I was soo blessed by hearing Sally on here! We LOVE the Jesus Storybook Bible. There are so many nuggets of truth from this podcast that will be forever imprinted on my heart. Thank you!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, Tricia! :)
