Mother Jones and Her Army of Mill Children

FROM SARAH:

Mary Harris Jones marched out of Philadelphia followed by a parade of very small soldiers. Their mission? To march all the way to the president's front porch and ask for something wonderfully simple: time for school and time to play. This is a cheerful, stirring read-aloud for anyone who has ever wondered how one small voice (or a whole parade of them) can start something big.

FROM THE PUBLISHER:

A stunning picture book about Mary "Mother" Jones and the 100 children who marched from Philadelphia to New York in a fiery protest against child labor.
