FROM SARAH:

Did you know that Beverly Cleary was NOT a strong reader as a child? As she grew, she wanted to write stories about kids like her; kids with scraped knees, big feelings, and wonderfully messy days. This cozy biography is a gift for young readers who are still finding their way into books, and for every Ramona fan who has wondered where such a spirited girl came from.

With hard work, and the encouragement of her parents and a special teacher, she learned to read and at a young age discovered she had a knack for writing.
