FROM SARAH:

I really wanted to like this (and the companion to it, The Tempest) more than I did. The story itself left a lot to be desired--so many missed opportunities to use Shakespeare's real text! The illustrations, however, are quite lovely. This isn't a top recommendation from me, but we're lacking in great picture book versions of Shakespeare's tales, so if your library has it, you can check it out to see what you think.

Recommended for ages 4-8.

FROM THE PUBLISHER:

Retold for a picture book audience, the Bard’s mischievous take on love run amok in fairyland meets its match in luminous illustrations by Jane Ray.
