Sarah Mackenzie
Founder & Host
Sarah started Read-Aloud Revival ® to help homeschooling mamas fall in love with their ordinary, bookish homeschool lives. She’s a homeschooling mama to six, author of Teaching from Rest and The Read-Aloud Family, and publisher of the new boutique publishing house, Waxwing Books. She lives with her lively, story-loving crew in the Pacific Northwest.
Audrey Menck
Creative Director
Audrey is a writer and photographer with a heart for the beauty of the Gospel. She can often be found meandering bookshops, drinking tea, and sharing life and music with those she loves. Her most recent adventure includes a year in the UK studying theology and the arts at the University of St. Andrews. She’s also Sarah’s oldest daughter and first homeschool graduate.
Gretchen Louise
Website & Business Manager
Gretchen is a farmer’s wife and second-generation homeschool mom to their four children. Their home is filled with antiques and overflowing bookshelves. When she’s not reading or writing, Gretchen is selling at farmers markets, bookkeeping for the family farm, or creating and troubleshooting websites.
Elaina Kohane
Marketing Coordinator
Elaina is a lifelong lover of literature, used bookstores, and mountains. When she’s not devouring a good book, she’s usually hiking, kayaking or skiing. Her dream is to one day have a home library with ladders on the bookshelves. She lives with her husband in West Michigan.
Leilani Curtis
Premium Coordinator
Leilani is a bookish extrovert, military wife, and homeschooling mama of six. She loves searching for great books, drinking coffee, and helping others build beautiful home libraries. North Carolina is where she and her husband have the joy of bringing up their children and investing in their local church.
Kelsey Murphy
Community Manager
Kelsey is a self-proclaimed “unexpected homeschooler,” as homeschooling was never something she set out to do. Nowadays, it brings her great joy to educate her children at home. With five boys and a little girl, her house is loud, chaotic, and full of LEGO bricks, tea parties, and great books. As a pastor’s wife, she is also passionate about ministry. She lives with her family in Southeast Idaho, where they love taking advantage of the beautiful outdoor scenery.
Avery Shelburne
Merchandising Manager & Creative Support
Avery believes that beautiful stories make us brave and fill our hearts with love, compassion and perseverance. She is a long-time teacher with a MSEd. in Curriculum and Instruction, and has been a Reading Specialist for over fourteen years. Her great loves are her husband, her two red-headed boys, storytimes, tea, and her cat, Amelia Bedelia. She believes there’s nothing better than a long walk and an audiobook (preferably in a light sprinkle of rain) and is deeply passionate about bubble baths. You can find her curled up with a book in a corner of a beautiful bookshop in Waco, TX.
Erica Brasfield
Executive Assistant to Sarah
Erica is a seasoned Executive Assistant with years of experience managing complex administrative tasks. She is known for her organization, reliability, and attention to detail. Erica is a proud mother of two and enjoys spending her free time capturing moments through photography, and creating beautiful pieces with embroidery. She lives in Alabama with her husband and children, where she balances her career with a deep love for family and creative hobbies.
Pam Barnhill
Director of Operations
After years of mentoring homeschool moms, Pam brings a love of family learning and a knack for breaking big tasks into manageable steps to her role. She lives in Alabama with her husband Matt, their kids, and two spoiled pooches. When not working behind the scenes (her favorite place) building project schedules and SOPs, she can be found escaping to a bubble bath with a good book or cheering on her favorite team.
